Phew ....... a chance to sit down

Paul's insistence that I write "OFF" in my diary every Monday is probably very wise.
As someone who verges on being a workaholic, I sometimes need to be told to stop for my own benefit. Nevertheless, the remaining six days are just packed, with day courses, residential training and of course training dogs not to chase sheep and other livestock.
The latest email requesting help was from someone in Texas, while last week I was invited to an expenses paid trip to Portugal to solve the problem with some dogs. Thank goodness for the internet !

Meanwhile
, guests come and go, with one of my residential training dogs being 6 month old Tally.
When she first arrived, Tally pulled my arm out of its' socket, but two weeks since arriving, I now have her walking to heel on a lead on the road, while off-lead in the garden. She's one cheeky little dog, who, as Paul has discovered, likes to help in the garden !
"Now where did I hide that bone?"

Tally
Paul took this pic on his phone of the dogs cooling off in a nearby beck. This is a secret spot, well out of the way and you have to know the area well to find it - so imagine Paul's annoyance when he returned the following day only to find someone had pitched a tent right next to it !
"No bombing or running please"
Not to be outdone, Nellie decides that some H2o is the perfect answer on a hot day. Thankfully her ear / mouth coordination is nothing special as she fails to catch a rotten piece of wood ...... just !
"Up up and away !!"

Meanwhile, has Honey had enough of Cash ? Far from it ! Believe it or not, she's found that these little tearaways can be alot of fun, the result being that not only is Cash her new best friend, but so to is Snip, Pig and Sumo - names which will undoubtedly be changed by their new owners !
Cash cowers in front of an excited Honey
And finally a true wildlife shot, where the photographer had to take evasive action the moment he was spotted !
" Get Him !!! "

The Italian Connection - Harry the Spinone

Let me introduce you to Harry, an Italian Spinone. Harry arrived yesterday for a day's "try out", prior to any long term boarding. He's as gentle as he looks and those eyes .... ! Janet

"Come on Chief, smile !!"

"Come on Chief, smile !!" That look from 9 mth old Chief tells me I'm lucky to take even one photograph of him ! Chief is just one dog who has stayed with me since the New Year, either for boarding or residential training. Nearly all can be seen on my Cumbria Dog Training Facebook page, and with a husband who is more than cabaple Peanut enjoys the fells. Meet Nala, a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog, who, at 7 mths old is still displaying alot of puppy traits. She's staying for a 24 hr try out and has fitted in really well. I'm pleased to be able to say that Peanut is staying with me again. This young Cocker is such a lovely girl who makes herself right at home and gets on so well with everyone, both people and dogs. And finally, time for my own girls !

Keep Cool Sumo !

Few things are nicer than a beautiful summer's walk being finished off by a cooling swim in a beck, hidden from all and known by only a few. Paul's dog Sumo is in his element here, with the joy of jumping in, then swimming to retrieve a tennis ball. Sumo leaps for he's worth. Bert has figured out how to leave the far bank to cross the beck but unfortunately for him, he's sitting on the last rock. Next step will be into the water.....not a thing he particularly enjoys. Bert  A beautiful image captures a beautiful dog - Lewis, a Black Labrador. Lewis  Chester is a regular boarding dog and his owners asked Paul to take a series of photographs of him while he stayed with us. Here is just one of them. Chester What can I say ? This is me having alot of fun - especially with Milo, a Pug X Shih Tzu.
