The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog

Over the years I've worked with most breeds, from Akitas and Rottweilers through to Chihuahuas and Yorkshire Terriers. Now I can mention another breed - a Czechslovakian Wolfdog.
Meet Kyra, who I'm just beginning to train. As these are early days, the long line is still required to prevent her running off but this is only for short term use until I know with complete confidence that she will respond to the recall.
Talking with Kyra's owner

Not a common sight in the English Countryside
On a different note, Paul was contacted at the start of the week by the Farmers Guardian, asking to use his very powerful photograph from one of my sheep chasing lessons. It features on the "Sheep" page on my website and previously featured in an article on me last year.
The dog featured is a Presa Canario x Rottweiler. And I can honestly say that no sheep was bitten or harmed.

An all too common sight caused by thoughtless owners

But to finish off, let me introduce you to the smallest member of the family - a one week old Cocker Spaniel belonging to Fran.
Her bitch Maddie gave birth to five, though only four have survived. But Mads is proving to be a fabulous mother and I'm also very proud of Fran. Her determination to do things right have meant sleepless nights on the settee and numerous nocturnal visits to check on Mum and the litter.
Well done Fran.
One day he'll be in and out of the bracken ........
...... but for now, it's just eat sleep and be quiet !

  1. Nice and very interesting. Thank you for your sharing...........

  2. Hi would like to say that's me with my Czechoslovakian wolfdog I paid Janet Ardley £300 to train my wolfdog and after several visits to her cottage she turn to me and I cannot train your dog , so I went away thought she took my money then said that , I then sent her an email saying I wanted my money back , she was not happy but eventually she gave the money back , just like to say she took my money on the understanding that she said she could train kyra
Don't not think she a good trainer she kicked my kyra twice with her wellies on witch I was totally wrong and cruel
And she did not say she was taking a photo of us
And trying to advertise her capability to been a trainer
Have a good mind to sue her

The Italian Connection - Harry the Spinone

Let me introduce you to Harry, an Italian Spinone. Harry arrived yesterday for a day's "try out", prior to any long term boarding. He's as gentle as he looks and those eyes .... ! Janet

"Come on Chief, smile !!"

"Come on Chief, smile !!" That look from 9 mth old Chief tells me I'm lucky to take even one photograph of him ! Chief is just one dog who has stayed with me since the New Year, either for boarding or residential training. Nearly all can be seen on my Cumbria Dog Training Facebook page, and with a husband who is more than cabaple Peanut enjoys the fells. Meet Nala, a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog, who, at 7 mths old is still displaying alot of puppy traits. She's staying for a 24 hr try out and has fitted in really well. I'm pleased to be able to say that Peanut is staying with me again. This young Cocker is such a lovely girl who makes herself right at home and gets on so well with everyone, both people and dogs. And finally, time for my own girls !

Keep Cool Sumo !

Few things are nicer than a beautiful summer's walk being finished off by a cooling swim in a beck, hidden from all and known by only a few. Paul's dog Sumo is in his element here, with the joy of jumping in, then swimming to retrieve a tennis ball. Sumo leaps for he's worth. Bert has figured out how to leave the far bank to cross the beck but unfortunately for him, he's sitting on the last rock. Next step will be into the water.....not a thing he particularly enjoys. Bert  A beautiful image captures a beautiful dog - Lewis, a Black Labrador. Lewis  Chester is a regular boarding dog and his owners asked Paul to take a series of photographs of him while he stayed with us. Here is just one of them. Chester What can I say ? This is me having alot of fun - especially with Milo, a Pug X Shih Tzu.
