Does your dog like to be photographed ?

Some boarding dogs arrive with manners and others have to be taught them.
However, despite Olive being in the first category, she certainly has a way of showing her displeasure at a photo shoot !!

Manners please Olive !

Few things excite Bert more than chasing a fox tail. Thankfully this is the only thing he runs after, which is just as well, given the number of lambs currently around us !

Up up and away !!

I've just found this pic that Paul took of Pixie and me when I first got her. In truth he's taken so many of "my !!" dog. She's now 16 wks old and only wants to know where Mum is, which is always a good sign for bonding !

Love is ....

Meet Plum, a very young - and lovely - Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen who's staying with me for training.
Plum has the soulful howl of the hound she is, a noise which can be heard over some distance. However, her warm and friendly personality has won us so we're able to ignore a little noise !

The Italian Connection - Harry the Spinone

Let me introduce you to Harry, an Italian Spinone. Harry arrived yesterday for a day's "try out", prior to any long term boarding. He's as gentle as he looks and those eyes .... ! Janet

"Come on Chief, smile !!"

"Come on Chief, smile !!" That look from 9 mth old Chief tells me I'm lucky to take even one photograph of him ! Chief is just one dog who has stayed with me since the New Year, either for boarding or residential training. Nearly all can be seen on my Cumbria Dog Training Facebook page, and with a husband who is more than cabaple Peanut enjoys the fells. Meet Nala, a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog, who, at 7 mths old is still displaying alot of puppy traits. She's staying for a 24 hr try out and has fitted in really well. I'm pleased to be able to say that Peanut is staying with me again. This young Cocker is such a lovely girl who makes herself right at home and gets on so well with everyone, both people and dogs. And finally, time for my own girls !

The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog

Over the years I've worked with most breeds, from Akitas and Rottweilers through to Chihuahuas and Yorkshire Terriers. Now I can mention another breed - a Czechslovakian Wolfdog. Meet Kyra, who I'm just beginning to train. As these are early days, the long line is still required to prevent her running off but this is only for short term use until I know with complete confidence that she will respond to the recall. Talking with Kyra's owner Not a common sight in the English Countryside On a different note, Paul was contacted at the start of the week by the Farmers Guardian, asking to use his very powerful photograph from one of my sheep chasing lessons. It features on the "Sheep" page on my website and previously featured in an article on me last year. The dog featured is a Presa Canario x Rottweiler. And I can honestly say that no sheep was bitten or harmed. An all too common sight caused by thoughtless owners But to finish off, let me introduce y...
