Coniston Country Fair

Last Sunday I had a very enjoyable day at the Coniston Country Fair, where I'd pitched my Cumbria Dog Training stand for the day.
Fran came with me and of course where Fran goes, Maddie goes to.
Thankfully the weather held and we met some lovely people. With Coniston Lake behind us, there can't be many shows with a more beautiful backdrop.
Making new friends and with Maddie to my left
A recent guest has been Olive - aka known as Honey's playmate (poor Olive!).
These two play non stop, both inside and outside the house, and it was noticeable that the day after Olive had been collected, Honey did nothing but sleep. Don't worry about the fierce Chihuahua - when the going gets too hot, she can be seen running under the car for safety. Honey 1 - 0 Every Other Dog !
Honey chooses Olive's left ear for dinner
Meanwhile, taking a leaf out of the The Three Bears nursery rhyme, Honey decides that a larger bed fits quite nicely, thank you very much! The fact that my new floor is not being laid until next week is quite incidental.
What is that down there ?
With the Country Show season in full swing, my next date is this coming Saturday at the Penrith Show.
I hope to see you there.

Janet

The Italian Connection - Harry the Spinone

Let me introduce you to Harry, an Italian Spinone. Harry arrived yesterday for a day's "try out", prior to any long term boarding. He's as gentle as he looks and those eyes .... ! Janet

"Come on Chief, smile !!"

"Come on Chief, smile !!" That look from 9 mth old Chief tells me I'm lucky to take even one photograph of him ! Chief is just one dog who has stayed with me since the New Year, either for boarding or residential training. Nearly all can be seen on my Cumbria Dog Training Facebook page, and with a husband who is more than cabaple Peanut enjoys the fells. Meet Nala, a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog, who, at 7 mths old is still displaying alot of puppy traits. She's staying for a 24 hr try out and has fitted in really well. I'm pleased to be able to say that Peanut is staying with me again. This young Cocker is such a lovely girl who makes herself right at home and gets on so well with everyone, both people and dogs. And finally, time for my own girls !

Summer 2019 - sunshine and showers

How wonderful to see a dog express his enjoyment at being in water as much as Bear does. This youngster loved our muddy ditch and ran up and down constantly. But then came the washing and drying of Bear and the question "why did I allow him to do that ?!" Bear .............and then there was Murray ! Murray Heidi, a recent residential training youngster, loved to let off steam by jumping through the air for a tuft of grass. This Munsterlander was quite a sight, as her long legs allowed her to get quite a leap. Heidi Mick, enjoying some playtime in the heather ! Mick Bert is famous ..... well, in a way he is.
