Mans best friend comes in all shapes and sizes and my latest blog clearly displays that. Deefa the German Shepherd is as big and powerful as the photo suggests - but he's also incredibly gentle. The command "gentle", when used to give him the smallest of treats results in a giant coaxing up to me and softly taking the goodie from my finger tips ! Deefa the German Shepherd powering his way through the snow While Deefa may be large, on the other end of the scale is Lulu, a lovely Yorkshire Terrier. She's been given the odd dirty look from Honey, who is probably wondering where this interloper has come from. And as if that's not enough, "you know who" is having to vie for the favoured lap position ! Lulu wearing her thermal raincoat Deefa A happier looking Lulu ! Honey struts across the bridge as only Honey can ! Charlie and Ruby leap through the air in pursuit of a ball
I'm Janet Ardley, a professional dog trainer and behaviourist living in the beautiful Lake District National Park here in Cumbria.
I offer residential home boarding, training and help for dogs with behavioural problems.
I'm also very busy training dogs not to chase sheep and livestock.
The purpose of my blog is to give an insight into my working life and hopefully reflect the great fun and happiness I get from working with mans' best friend.
